2.    Updated Curriculum at Lattes platform (CNPq) in PDF format. Please attach copies of the documents listed therein (published articles, books and published book chapters, certificates of participation in conferences, proof of participation in research or extension projects, awards and academic distinctions) in the last 4 years. Articles, books or book chapters do not require full copy but the cover sheet that identifies the author, title, journal or book, and year of publication.

- Applicants whose diplomas have not yet been issued should submit an official document indicating the date of conclusion and degree earned
- Applicants who are still attending undergraduate school should submit an official letter indicating that they are potentially eligible to graduate
Note: Applicants who do not include the diploma must be aware that if selected in the admission process they will be required to present the diploma at enrollment, with graduation conclusion date (Day/month/year) prior to the last day of the enrollment period at ESALQ, otherwise they will not be able to enroll

6.    Doctoral degree applicants only: Master's degree diploma – front and back
- Applicants whose diplomas have not yet been issued should submit an official document indicating the degree earned and homologation date (Day/month/year)
- Applicants who are still attending the master’s program should submit an official letter anticipating the date of the defense
- Applicants whose master’s degree was earned outside Brazil are additionally required to present degree equivalency except when the diploma is recognized countrywide
Note: Applicants who do not include the master’s degree diploma must be aware that if selected in the admission process they will be required to present the diploma at enrollment, with degree homologation date (Day/month/year) prior to the last day of the enrollment period at ESALQ, otherwise they will not be able to enroll.
7.    Proof of registration for the ANPAD test (National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration) or the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), or valid results until September 2025. The applicant must submit only one of these tests, in accordance with the following specifications:
- ANPAD Test: for Master’s applicants, a minimum score of 250 on the overall result is required. For Doctorate and Direct Docorate applicants, a minimum score of 301 on the overall result is required. ANPAD test »
- GRE: a minimum overall score of 250 is required. The results must be valid for up to 2 (two) years, with validity until August 2025. GRE »
8. Research Proposal. The research proposal must be coherent with one of the PPGA’s research lines. Applicants are encouraged to review the research lines and areas of the faculty members linked to the program in order to propose a project aligned with these topics (see the list of advisors by research line and area).
The proposal must include the following sections: 1) Introduction; 2) Research Problem; 3) Objectives (general and specific); 4) Theoretical Framework (a brief presentation of the main theories related to the project’s core topic); 5) Materials and Methods (description of the proposed methodology); 6) Project Timeline; 7)  References.
Formatting guidelines: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment, and 2.5 cm margins (top, bottom, right, and left).
The cover page must include only: the project title, applicant’s name, research line, and up to three areas of interest related to PPGA faculty members.
- For the Master’s program, the complete proposal (including cover page and references) must not exceed 12 pages.
- For the Doctorate and Direct Doctorate programs, the complete proposal (including cover page and references) must be between 11 and 15 pages.

Additional minimum requirements to apply for the Direct Doctorate program

- If currently enrolled in a master's program, the applicant must have obtained an A grade in 100% of the courses taken;
- Must have participated in at least one academic conference in the 12 months prior to the application deadline, with a paper presentation;
- Must have published at least two (2) articles in national or international academic journals indexed in at least one of the following databases or metrics:
   a) Journal Citation Reports (JCR) with an Impact Factor greater than zero;
   b) SPELL (Scientific Periodicals Electronic Library) with a 5-Year Impact Factor without Self-Citation greater than 0.10;
   c) Scimago/Scopus H-index greater than zero;
   d) Scopus CiteScore greater than zero.

Degree equivalency

Doctorate applicants with a master's degree abroad must additionally submit the following documents:

  • Signed request addressed to the Dean of Esalq (please inform the purpose of the request and personal email contact);
  • Defense report or equivalent document showing the composition of the examination committee;
  • Dissertation or thesis.

Applicants who have not yet completed their master's degree may submit this documentation later, remembering that the equivalence process takes time and, therefore, must be concluded before enrolling in the doctorate.
